Annual Conference and Exhibition 2008

Many visitors and delegates at the conference took a keen interest in our guide
to 'New and Existing Sustainable Housing' and Terry Keech's seminar on sustainability was very well received. Attendance to this well established exhibition was very high, giving us a chance to display our services and broaden our clientele within the south east.

calfordseaden once again exhibited at the UK’s ultimate housing event,
which focuses on the provision of affordable housing and the development
of sustainable communities. This event brings together nearly 6,500 housing professionals, together with 380 key suppliers all under one roof, so gives calfordseaden an excellent opportunity of establishing relationships with
potential clients and meeting up with familiar faces from the housing industry.

Collins (Contractors) Limited v calfordseaden at The Valley
Monday 26th May 2008
calfordseaden where once again kindly invited to field a team to pit their footballing talents against Collins Contractors in a game of 11 aside football. Unfortunately the weather gods did not smile on the event, which took place on bank holiday Monday at Charlton Athletic Football Club, with the pitch being 50% waterlogged with standing water and incessant rain.
Needless to say the calford lads (with representatives from each of the four offices) rolled up their sleeves and gave it their best shot, cheered on by a
fantastic (and highly vocal) amount of supporters.
The final result was a close run 3-2 with the Collins team narrowly proving victorious and too strong on the day. After the match everyone met in the supporters lounge to retell events from the previous 90 minutes over a complimentary drink or two and a buffet lunch.

Friday 6th June 2008
This year the Partners of calfordseaden treated staff to a day out in London. Based around St Katherine’s Dock, the day started off with breakfast at the Dicken’s Inn followed by activities within the vicinity. We all enjoyed a guided tour of the Tower
of London, took part in a treasure hunt within the dock and surrounding area, and had fantastic RIB rides on the Thames. In the evening we indulged in a pleasant Spanish meal with a live band and dancing.
